Void Versus Devoid

Well, it didn’t take long for me to not be bored. 🙂 I’ll have homework up to my eyeballs until May 2 from here on out. Lovely….

I have a question. Whoever can answer it will be my all time here. What is the difference between void and devoid? The dictionaries I have looked at give void as a definition devoid and vice versa. You can’t have a prefix in front of a word without changing it though (de)!! Right? Any ideas….
